Niels Bohr and Albert Einstein were intellectually on opposite sides of the quantum mechanics fence: Bohr vehemently believed in Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, maintaining that no two properties of a particle could be measured with any degree of accuracy; Einstein, over the years, attempted many counter-arguments and wrote numerous papers against the principle and the Copenhagen Interpretation, which Bohr also championed. However, Einstein was never able to prove Bohr’s theories as incorrect or incomplete.  Regardless, the two men held each other in the utmost respect, and remained friends and debating partners until Einstein’s death in 1955.
